You may be the person others rely on. The one who notices what everyone needs, holds things together, keeps going. From the outside, it can look like coping. Inside, it might feel like there is very little left for you.
Or perhaps that has already stopped working, and you are wondering what happened to the person who used to manage.
You might have learned early that being useful was the safest way to be loved, or that it was safer living from the neck up. Perhaps you've become so practised at reading the room that you've lost track of your own signal.
You have always found a way to survive. It might not be the way you want to keep living.
People come to me for many reasons.
Often it's one of these:
> Trauma, abuse and childhood neglect
Physical, emotional and sexual abuse, neglect, and the patterns that follow, in how you relate, how you trust, and how intimacy feels now.
> Anxiety and depression
The low hum that never quite settles, the constant bracing for what might go wrong, or a heaviness that makes ordinary things feel far away.
> Relational and family patterns, and parenthood
What was passed down, what you're trying not to repeat, and the difficulty of staying connected to your child while losing touch with yourself.
> Disconnection from the body and body image
Distress that shows up in the body, sometimes with eating difficulties, sometimes feeling at a distance from yourself and from what you feel and want.
> Burnout, perfectionism and overachieving
Where performance has become the price of belonging, until nothing feels like enough, or you can't keep it up at all.

Bereavement, endings, the passages that change who you are, including the ones nobody marks.
Welcome, I'm Vera Braghiroli, a qualified Integrative Counsellor and a Psychotherapist in advanced training at the Minster Centre in London. Born in Italy, I now live and work in the Cotswolds.
My therapeutic work is tailored around you rather than fitting you to a single modality. In practice, that means paying attention not only to what you think and feel, but to what your body carries and where it comes from.
Alongside my private practice with adults, I volunteer with a local counselling charity and work in a primary school, supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs. This gives me a deep understanding of family systems, attachment and safeguarding, which informs how

How I work
I offer individual sessions with adults (18+). My work is integrative, which means I draw on several therapeutic traditions rather than fitting you to a single method. It is also relational and developmental: I am interested in how you learned to be in the world, and in what happens between us, because relationship is where most of the change actually happens.
I work in a trauma-informed way, at your pace and never ahead of it. Nothing has to be told before you are ready. I also pay attention to the body: to breath, sensation, and what is felt before it can be spoken. For some people the body has been unfamiliar or unsafe territory. We go gently, and only as far as is useful.
