Terms & Cancellation Policy
These terms set out how I work, what sessions cost, and what you can expect from me. These terms apply once you begin working with me as a client. I will send a fuller working agreement before our first session, and we will discuss it together during that session.
Sessions
Sessions last 50 minutes and are held online or in person, in English or Italian, by arrangement.
Appointments are typically arranged weekly at the same time and on the same day each week. Regular commitment and attendance help build momentum in the therapeutic work and support its effectiveness.
The work is usually open-ended, but committing to long-term work can seem daunting, particularly at the outset. With this in mind, we will generally agree to work for 6–8 sessions to begin with, after which time we can review which aspects of the work are proving helpful and how you would like to progress. It is understood that sometimes short breaks will be necessary.
If you only wish to commit to a certain number of sessions, we can contract for shorter-term work to focus on more concise, realistic objectives.
I offer some evening slots. At present, I do not work weekends.
Fees & Payment
The fee is £60 per session, payable at the time of booking.
Online — payments are to be made in full in advance of a session via bank transfer
In-person — payments are to be made in full in advance of a session via bank transfer, or you can pay in cash on the day
I reserve a couple of lower-cost slots to make therapy more accessible to those concerned about the financial sustainability of long-term therapy.
Client cancellations
I ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel a session. Cancellations made with less notice, and missed sessions, are charged at the full session fee, as this time has been reserved for you. It is understood that sometimes life happens and there may be occasions when you are not able to attend as planned.
With due notice, it might be possible to rearrange your session for an alternative time or day, but this cannot be guaranteed.
If I need to cancel
On the rare occasion I need to cancel a session (for example, due to illness), I will let you know as soon as possible, and no fee will be charged. We'll arrange an alternative time together.
Ending therapy
You are free to stop at any time. Ultimately, these sessions are your space, and they need to work for you. Where possible, I ask that we plan an ending together; a planned ending is an important part of the therapeutic process.
Confidentiality
What you share in sessions is confidential, within the limits set out by my professional body's ethical framework and by law (for example, where there is risk of serious harm). This is explained fully in our working agreement and my Confidentiality and Privacy Policy.
Your data
I keep accurate, secure client records in line with UK GDPR. Full details are set out in our working agreement and my Confidentiality and Privacy Policy.
This page is a summary only. The fuller working agreement, sent before and discussed during our first session, covers confidentiality, safeguarding, data protection, and the details of how we'll work together in more depth.
